Where the facts come from

Jar counts, spice lists, sizes, materials, batteries and what is in the box come from our own product descriptions. Prices come from our scheduled catalog update.

Public sources

Our guides on keeping spices and produce lean on public agencies and university extension services. Every source is opened and read before a sentence cites it, and the date we read it is printed with the source.

Ratings and photos

The star rating and the number of ratings on a piece come from shoppers at our retail partner, as of our last update. The colors of one piece share a pool of ratings, and we count each pool once.

Product photos and the film on our home page come from our own brand photography and video. Where a photo carried a printed caption, we do not show it.
