Ceramic below, cork on top
Every piece in the Ceramic and Cork collection pairs a glazed ceramic body with a lid of natural cork. The stackable canister set gives you half-quart, one-quart and two-quart sizes for sugar, flour, coffee or rice. The lids are shallow dishes, so you can set a smaller canister on top of a larger one and stand all three in the footprint of one.
The smaller pieces each have one job. The garlic keeper has holes in the bottom so air reaches the bulbs, and its curved lid holds loose cloves. The salt pig opens with a thumb on its pivoting lid. The salt cellar stacks three pieces into two compartments, salt in the base and peppercorns in the lid. Colors run from white and black to red, teal and terra cotta.
Each of these belongs to the Kamenstein range, and the full ceramic & cork shelf has the rest.
Onions and garlic want dry air and their skins on, potatoes want the dark, and the two are better kept apart.
Questions
Questions about Kamenstein ceramic canisters with cork lids
How much can you store in the Kamenstein ceramic canisters?
The set of three holds 1/2 quart, 1 quart and 2 quarts, and the three stack into one tower.
Why does your Kamenstein garlic keeper have holes in it?
Holes in the bottom let air move around the bulbs. Garlic keeps best somewhere cool, dry, dark and airy, and the keeper gives it the air and the dark.
Can you put Kamenstein ceramic and cork pieces in the dishwasher?
Wash the ceramic by hand and wipe the cork with a damp cloth. Let the cork dry fully before the lid goes back on.
