About the Kamenstein USB Rechargeable Gravity Grinder
Turn it upside down over the food and it starts on its own, with an LED lighting the spot. Turn it right side up and it stops, once the button has switched it on. It arrives filled with peppercorns, and a dial picks one of five settings from coarse to fine. Charging over the included USB cable takes three to four hours and gives about 45 minutes of grinding, and the indicator light turns blue when the charge is full. To refill, pull off the lower compartment, pour peppercorns or coarse salt into the reservoir and snap it back. Ceramic burrs do not rust.
On the same shelf of Kamenstein kitchen storage stands the Traditional Glossy Battery Grinder: one-button grinding, 10 inches tall, white or black.
Key features
- Gravity start: Tip it over the pan and it grinds, set it upright and it stops. The LED shows where the pepper lands.

- Five settings: Turn the dial from coarse for a steak crust to fine for eggs.
- Easy refill: The lower compartment pulls off, the reservoir fills, the compartment snaps back.

A grinder with a built-in battery goes to a battery recycler at the end of its life, not into the trash.
